Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III is dead

Manhyia Palace, August 11, 2025 – Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has officially announced the death of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III. The announcement was made during an Asanteman Council meeting held at the Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 11, 2025, as reported by Gilbert Mawuli Agbey.
The one-week observance for the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III is scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who was 91 years old, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, after reigning for eight years. She ascended to the stool in 2017 at the age of 83, succeeding Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

She was the elder sister of the current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and a daughter of Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II. Her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, reigned as Asantehemaa for 39 years before her passing on November 15, 2016, at the age of 109.
