Ghana’ll “experience full growth, restoration” – Otabil

Pastor Mensa Otabil has spoken prophetic words into the life of Ghana, saying the nation, just as the biblical valley of bones story in which Ezekiel prophesied life back into a vanquished army of dry bones, will also rise from the ashes into a whole army that will be restored to glory and fullness.

In his third series of his teaching about the Power of Words, the founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) told his congregation on Sunday, 13 May – Mothers’ Day, that: “I believe totally that Ghana is coming back to life, Ghana is going to experience full growth, full restoration in every aspect of our national life because we need it for our future”.

According to him, “We cannot be a nation that keeps going from crisis to crisis, from difficulty to difficulty; we cannot just say this is the story, it used to be but we are going to rise up, we are going to be an army and we are going to move forward again”.

On the previous Sunday, Pastor Otabil asked Ghanaian Christians, especially those in his church, to be bubbly about Ghana’s prospects and speak positive things into the life of the nation rather than have a complaining and self-defeating attitude.

“Words can be self-defeating, you lose the battle with your words before the fight even begins”, he said.

He, thus, urged Ghanaians to shun the spirit of complaint and rather speak good things into Ghana’s life.

“The spirit of complaint: ‘We’re not able’, ‘we can’t do it’; I’m here to declare: That Ghana is prosperous, that Ghana will make it, that the people of Ghana will prosper, the people of Ghana will be on top, I see millionaires, I see billionaires, I see businesses expanding, I see new doors opening to you, I see a flourishing economy, I see an abundant economy, I see money flowing in this country, I see industries flowing, I see tourism booming, I see God showing favour to this nation, that is my nation.

“I don’t know which Ghana you live in, whether it’s the wilderness, it’s up to you but this is my land, flowing with milk and honey. There’s honey here, there’s milk here.

“But somebody [may] say: ‘Pastor face the fact’. Which fact? My facts are not based on the economy, my facts are based on the promises of God. As long as I live here, I am blessed; as long as this is my land, I am blessed. If I were in the desert, I’d be blessed; if I were born in Mauritania, it will be blessed; if I’m born in China, it will be blessed; if I’m in Niger, it will be blessed; wherever, if it’s Western Sahara, it will be blessed; it doesn’t matter which nation because I am here, because you are here, because you are a servant of God, because God has given you His word, and God has given you His Promise, you will not fail, you will prosper, you will abound and don’t ever look at what the challenge is and say: ‘I’m a Grasshopper’; don’t ever look at the giants in the land and say: ‘We’re not able’.

“I came here to announce to somebody: ‘You’re well-able. The Lord will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies. Those who said you are finished, they’ll watch and see you living in the overflow. Words have got power, words are powerful. What you say, God hears. If you want life, speak life, if you want favour, speak favour.

“You have to determine in this nation that every word that you speak will affirm your confidence in what God will do in your life. Your words will affirm your confidence in what you believe God will do in your life. You’re not going down, I said you are not going down, you will prosper, you will increase, you will grow, you will flourish, you will bear fruit, God will answer your prayer, God will show you favour, God will scatter your enemy, God will give you victory on every side, in every battle, you are not [among] those who go to battle and come in tears, you go into a battle and come with a shout, you go into a battle and come with victory, the battle will be strong but your God is stronger, your enemy is mighty, but your God is almighty, your problem is high but you serve the Most High God. I came here to announce to somebody, ‘You are going over, you are prospering, you are increasing, it is well with you, you will not die in the wilderness, you are not going back to Egypt, you are in the Promised Land and you are living in the Promised Land”, Dr Otabil prayed.

He said as far as he is concerned, “I’m in a good place, the land is good for me, Ghana is good for me”.

‘My opponents will have no message by 2020’ – President Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has stressed that by the end of his first term of office in 2020, his political opponents would have no campaign message going into the elections, as he would have fulfilled the promises he made to the Ghanaian people in run-up to the 2016 elections.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the same people who are saying his administration has done nothing over the last 16 months in office are the same persons who, prior to the 2016 elections, stated that free SHS was not possible, and described as lies the pledge to restore the nursing and teacher trainee allowances.

“One by one we are keeping our promises. Free SHS is now a reality. In September this year, the Free SHS policy will cover new entrants, in addition to those who will then be in SHS 2. By September 2019, it will cover all students in Senior High Schools across the country. Teacher and nursing trainees are also receiving their allowances. We have also retired a large chunk of the NHIS debt left by my predecessor, and the NHIS is working,” he said

The President continued, “To those who say they are still not seeing anything, they should wait and watch me. By the end of the four years, they will have nothing to say. They will acknowledge that we came to work for the development of Ghana.”

President Akufo-Addo made this known on Saturday, 19th May, 2018, when he visited the Asutifi South, Asutifi North, Asunafo North and Asunafo South constituencies, on day 2 of his 3-day tour of the Brong Ahafo Region.

As part of his tour, President Akufo-Addo cut the sod for the construction of an administrative block for the Asunafo South District Assembly; and inspected the newly constructed bridge for residents of Asumura in the Asunafo North constituency.

President Akufo-Addo also commissioned the newly constructed special ward at the St. Theresa’s Hospital at Hwidiem in Asutifi South; and inspected the 68-bed hospital and semi-detached maternity block, which is under construction at Kenyasi in the Asutifi North constituency.

I’m ready to become President once again- John Mahama declares

Former President John Dramini Mahama has officially declared his intention to contest the 2020 flagbearer race of the National Democratic Congress.

Mr. Mahama who for sometime had remained tight lipped over his Presidential ambitions, finally took to Facebook to inform his followers of the decision to vie for the flag bearer position of the NDC.

“To you the teeming supporters and sympathizers calling and requesting me to declare my intentions for the future, I wish to assure you today, that as a servant-leader, I have listened to your calls and reflected. I will not disappoint you even as we await the publication of the party’s guidelines for selecting a new leader” he posted.

In describing himself as a ‘servant leader’ Mr. Mahama also commended the party executives for their immense contribution in ensuring that the NDC recovers from their shock defeat suffered in the 2016 general elections.

“I want to congratulate the rank & file and executives of our party, the NDC, at all levels for the commitment and work rate we have put into our reorganization efforts. The zeal and determination of the average sympathizer of our great party is greater and miles ahead of what it was after the December 2016 Elections. We need to keep up with the momentum generated and follow the published timelines.”

Meanwhile the former President will join a host of other aspiring presidential candidates such as Mr. Spio Garbrah, Prof Joshua Alabi, Mr. Sylvester Mensah and the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Bagbin as they have all expressed their readiness to lead the NDC in the 2020 elections.

Unemployment Is Forcing People To Become Pastors — Apostle Amoako Atta

Senior Pastor of Freedom Chapel International Ministries, Apostle Francis Amoako Atta has hinted that most of these modern pastors were not called by God but rather were called by hunger.

The Apostle in an interview with Ohemaa Woyeje on Adom Fm’s “Black Wednesday Show” stated that lack of employment in the country is also the cause of these numerous pastors in the country.

“If there are a lot of work opportunities in the country, lots of these pastors will shun the pastoral work. There are only three jobs in Ghana. It’s either you’re a pastor, politician or you sell herbal medicine…” he said.

A few weeks ago it was announced that the Rwandan President, Paul Kagame has closed down some churches in his country due to an inability of churches meeting the building regulations.

Apostle Ofori Atta was therefore also asked if Ghana should follow the steps taking by the Rwandan President and in an answer to this question he said the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs must set up some criteria in Ghana that would guide setting up of Churches in this country.
