The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo has banned public gathering effective from today March 16, 2020 to protect the spread of the coronavirus in Ghana as 6 cases remained confirmed.
To this effect, all schools, from the basic level to the universities have asked to close down as government tries to wrap its head around the problem which has been described as a pandemic around the world.

Only final years who are preparing for BECE and SSCE will be allowed to go to school. What this means is that funeral, festivals, churches and other gatherings have been prohibited. The ban is indefinite until further notice (although 4 weeks timeline was announced).
Nana Akufo Addo addressed the nation on national TV last night to roll out the new development.
