Rapper, Ponobiom has said that his success in the music industry has been dragged due to the failure of Media Houses to play his songs.
According to him, when he was introduced onto the music scene, the media houses he visited and asked his songs be played did not do so because they wanted him to change his name.
He said while in an interview with Showbiz that “I have very powerful songs but the media houses I went to prefer that I changed my name before they played my songs. I suffered this for a long time but it is better now”.
He mentioned that he would have been a big artiste by now if he was given the chance by the various media houses in Ghana.
He said he was tired explaining what PONO meant Prince Of New Origin because people had refused to accept it.
Ponobiom has no plans of changing his name.
“I have had this name for a decade and nothing will make me change it because I have achieved a lot with it and I love it”.
